The Select Sector SPDR Technology (AMEX: XLK) is full of old tech stocks. And this may be a good thing in the not too distant future.

Businesses that can raise prices can often increase profits, especially if they can control their costs.

And the old technology companies, have at least begun to show that they may be able to do at least the latter.

Indeed, the announcement by several memory chip manufacturers that they have been able to raise prices led to a nice enough rally in the chip sector on 4-11.

The question is whether other tech sectors can start to do the same, and XLK is an excellent way to play the entire sector with one ETF purchase.

If XLK can get above 24 cleanly, it looks ready to test its 200 day moving average. A move above that could lead to a sustained rally, if conditions remain favorable.
